Who is this program for?

  • Enrolled SMCSC students who are participating in virtual learning. 
  • Enrolled PHMS and PHHS students on weeks that our schools are in hybrid

How do students get meals?

Pickup will be a drive-thru style once per week.  Students from all schools will pick up at one location.  Families must choose to OPT-IN (see link above) to this service.  You only need to OPT-IN one time and we will expect you each week (Virtual) or weeks the secondary are in hybrid (Hybrid).

Is it free?
UPDATE:  YES!  Starting 9/10/2020, this program is FREE for ALL SMCSC students.

What do the meals consist of?
Each student will receive a full grocery bag of shelf-stable and cold foods that represent breakfast and lunches for days student was not able to eat at school.  Foods include fruits, vegetables, cereal, cereal bars, bagged grains (crackers, snacks), yogurt, cheese, and a gallon of milk.   Exact menu will vary based on product availability.
VIRTUAL = 5 day meal pack
HYBRID = 3 day meal pack

Does my student have to be present?
No, students do not have to be present.  Families can also make arrangements for someone else to pick up their meal bags if they choose. 

Why is this program different from the program that SMCSC offered March-June 2020?
When schools closed in March, USDA (federal government) allowed schools to operate a federal program under an emergency waiver that allowed all students to get this for free and SMCSC to be reimbursed for those costs associated.   As of now, USDA has not extended that program into SY 20-21 so we must operate under a different set of federal program rules.

How is it different from the program that SMCSC offered March-June 2020?
- Only enrolled students are eligible
- Free/Reduced students receive free, while Paid students are charged
- We must track more closely by student and will enter the transactions onto each student's cafeteria account.
- Because we must track more closely, we are requiring families to OPT-IN to the service and we will prepare the meal bags specifically for your family.

What if I decide I don't want the meals any longer?
Please let us know by clicking on the "Opt Out" button and completing the required information.  You do not have to complete this unless you previously Opt-In and no longer want to utilize the service.
