The South Madison Community School Corporation's (SMCSC) provides a nurturing environment for learning where students achieve their potential in order to become life-long learners and responsible, productive adults in a competitive global community. Technology is an essential tool in the 21st century, SMCSC is responsible for preparing all students to meet the challenges of an information society through the aid of technology. The use of tefchnology will continue to be embedded seamlessly into curriculum, instruction, and assessment to support student learning and the educational goals of South Madison. Provides appropriate technologies and telecommunication tools for students and staff including equipping each classroom with a minimum of one Internet accessible computer, a combination of computer labs, classroom computer pods (four to six computers), and mobile carts of wireless laptops as effective ways to access technology
Provides on-going professional development opportunities and support to staff.
Provides appropriate technologies for administration to plan and make decisions.
Is exploring low cost options to provide technological support beyond desktop computers.
Is activity supported by the school board.
Collaboratively developed our technology plan and annually updates policies and practices following research-based learning principles.
Provides technical staff and director of technology that is responsive in a timely manner to the needs of the staff.
Works to maintain an adequate budget for hardware and software purchases, cost of professional development, incentives for professional development, and other ongoing costs through technology allotment in the budget, competitive grants, E-Rate discounts, and extension of professional development to other teachers.
